This delicious brioche bread pudding is made with apples and a creamy custard for a delightful dessert.

- 1 loaf brioche bread, cut into cubes
- 3 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, divided
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the cubed brioche evenly inside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Add sliced apples, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly softened. Remove from heat.
- Spread the warm apple mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 6 eggs, 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread and apples. Press the bread gently so it absorbs the liquid.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- This dish can be prepared a day in advance, making it ideal for serving at gatherings.
- Feel free to add nuts or raisins for extra texture.
