Description

A delicious and easy beef and broccoli stir-fry recipe that is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound stew meat
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for searing)
  • 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear stew meat in batches until browned on all sides.
  2. Lower the heat and add minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, sesame oil, and ginger (if using). Stir and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Cover and simmer on low for 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the beef is fork-tender. Add more broth or water if needed.
  4. Add broccoli florets, cover, and cook for 5–7 minutes until just tender and vibrant green.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir into the pan and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles and enjoy.
