Description

This bourbon chicken and shrimp dish is a perfect blend of flavors, served hot over rice or pasta.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lbs)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook seasoned chicken in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir well and cook until shrimp is pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over rice or pasta.

Notes

  • This dish can be adjusted with the level of cayenne pepper for spice preference.
  • For an extra kick, consider adding some red pepper flakes.
