Description

A delicious apple galette made with Honeycrisp apples, sweetened with sugar and honey, and perfectly spiced with cinnamon.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar

Instructions

  1. Roll out the pie dough into a 12-inch circle on parchment paper and place on a baking sheet. Chill while preparing apples.
  2. In a large bowl, toss thinly sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, honey, and vanilla extract.
  3. Arrange apple slices on the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.
  4. Fold edges of dough over the apples, overlapping and pleating as needed.
  5. Brush crust with beaten egg and sprinkle entire galette with turbinado sugar.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40–45 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.
  7. Cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For best results, use Honeycrisp apples for their flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
