Description

A refreshing limeade made with freshly squeezed lime juice, sugar, and water, perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 78 limes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water (divided)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup of water, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar and salt completely dissolve. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice and the cooled syrup.
  3. Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Taste and adjust as needed. Add a splash more water if it’s too strong or a bit more lime juice if you like it tangy.
  4. Serve immediately over ice, or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • This limeade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a sparkling variation, replace some of the cold water with sparkling water.
