Description

These fudgy brownies are rich, chocolatey, and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!


Ingredients

  • 180g butter, unsalted
  • 250g dark chocolate
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 100g light brown or dark brown sugar
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 100g plain flour/all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 50g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 50g milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. Brown the butter by melting it in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, swirling occasionally, until the butter turns amber and smells nutty (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Remove the pan from heat and immediately add the dark chocolate. Stir until completely melted and smooth, then set aside to cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  4. Whisk the eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until well combined and slightly lightened in color (about 2 minutes by hand).
  5. Pour the cooled chocolate-butter mixture into the egg mixture and whisk until completely incorporated and glossy.
  6. Gently fold in the flour and salt with a spatula just until no dry streaks remain.
  7. Fold in the chopped milk chocolate and chocolate chips, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and scatter the reserved chocolate pieces over the surface.
  9. Bake for 22-25 minutes until the edges are set but the center still looks slightly underdone.
  10. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting out with the parchment paper and cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra chocolate flavor, add additional chopped chocolate on top before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
