- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk (or plant-based alternative)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups freshly whipped cream
- 1 cup maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a sheet pan with non-stick spray, lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until blended.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting with whipped cream and topping with maraschino cherries.
Notes
- This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
