Description

A delicious creamy shrimp fettuccine recipe that is quick to prepare and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Sauté the shrimp – Start by heating olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large deep skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for about 2 minutes per side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  2. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside. This keeps them tender and prevents overcooking later.
  3. Build the flavor base – In the same pan, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Add the pasta and liquid – Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir gently to combine. Add the uncooked fettuccine directly into the pan, making sure the pasta is mostly submerged in the liquid. Bring everything to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cook the pasta – Let the pasta cook for about 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The starch from the pasta will thicken the sauce naturally.
  6. Finish the dish – Once the pasta is tender, add the cooked shrimp back into the pan along with the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and velvety. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Garnish and serve – Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top and serve immediately while the pasta is hot and creamy.

Notes

  • This dish is best served immediately to enjoy the creamy texture.
  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.
